377 New Millionaires in Bulgaria in a Year
According to Bulgarian National Bank data, 377 people became millionaires in the past year. By June 2025, there were 1,972 deposits exceeding BGN 1 million, up from 1,595 a year earlier, holding over BGN 4.823 billion. From April to June alone, 77 new millionaires emerged. Total household deposits reached 9.016 million, worth BGN 93.149 billion—up 11.2% year-on-year. Small deposits continue to decline, while large loans over BGN 1 million rose sharply to 428 borrowers, a 66% increase, mainly for housing and luxury cars. Loans from BGN 500,000 to 1 million grew by nearly 70%, and those between BGN 200,000 and 500,000 by 8,300 in number. Business loans also increased, dominated by amounts over BGN 1 million, making up 75.7% of total corporate debt.
