Ivan Vazov Bulgarian Cultural Society in Berisso Marks 70 Years
The Ivan Vazov Bulgarian Cultural Society in Berisso, Buenos Aires Province, will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a special event on August 16, 2025.
“This year is very important for us: it marks 70 years since our foundation, and we want to celebrate with all the friends and partners who have supported us in promoting Bulgarian culture and preserving ties with our ancestral homeland,” members told BTA.
During the event, the names of cultural ambassadors representing the society at local festivals this year and next will be announced. Founded in 1955 to unite descendants of Bulgarians who settled in Argentina in the early 20th century, the society organizes language courses, national holiday celebrations, and runs a Bulgarian-language library and the “Sedyanka” dance troupe — all serving as meeting points for compatriots.
