Apollonia Festival in Sozopol
Apollonia is an annual arts festival held at the end of August and the beginning of September in the Bulgarian town of Sozopol. It was first organized in 1984, and since 1991 it has been run by the Apollonia Foundation.
Program and Format
The festival lasts about ten days and features more than 70 events, including:
concerts of classical, jazz, and popular music,
theatrical performances,
screenings of films and documentaries,
art and photography exhibitions,
literary evenings and workshops.
Apollonia welcomes both renowned Bulgarian and international artists, as well as young talents.

The main stages are located in the Old Town: the amphitheater, art galleries, halls, and open-air venues by the sea. The festival atmosphere blends Sozopol’s cultural heritage with contemporary art, creating a unique space for creativity and exchange.
